BrainShare opening keynote (part 2)
26 May 2004
The second half of the keynote involved a demo of Novell technology. Stafford Masie played guinea pig for showing off what one can do with Novell today.
Ok, the demo was a bit cheesy. The lines about and estimates for non-Novell solutions were a tiny bit over the top. But the inter-talk videos sortofmade the mood fit for me.
Of particular interest to me was iFolder (used to restore the documents the user whose Windows machine is down yet again because of virii), and the Groupwise Mail/Messenger program, which looked very slick. Didn't show much off about it.
Part of the demo was showing just how easy the migration to Linux is if you're using Novell products. If Novell can convert this into the huge number of Linux installations I imagine it could, this will really make the unbelievers sit up and pay attention.
