On a lark, I checked to see if there was a sequel to The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, possibly my favourite pure RPG game. It seems there is - The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. There's a link there to a droolworthy preview.
Things I like include the environment being even more immersive than Morrowind - check out the scary screenshots, and this quote:
Full facial animations and lip-synching, combined with full speech for all dialog, allows NPCs to come to life like never before.
The other game immersive thing is the activity of the NPCs. They're apparently going to work based on an AI of goals and ways to achieve those goals, and thus will always end up having food before starving, even if they have to steal it. I love the idea, although I wonder at the preview suggesting that all NPCs' actions will be considered during gametime, not only those in the immediate vicinity.
morrowind has been my favorett rpg for quite some time now. oblivion should be an amazing sequel *considering its coming out on the new and totally improoved XBOX 360,and the pc, "cough, cough, alienware computer needed, gasp,so much speed needed,hack!,dies.." but beside the fact that its coming out so late it should be freeking awsome*.
