Since 2.0.8 (an internal release), KnowledgeTree supports the concept of metadata versions of documents. The metadata version contains the combination of the contents of the document and the metadata assigned to the document.

Metadata versions are created whenever the physical document changes, or any generic or type-specific metadata about the document changes. A snapshot of the document record before the change is saved, and then the update is applied.

The metadata version is displayed in the document data, generic metadata, and type-specific metadata sections of the document detail page:

There is a new Metadata Versions section of the document details page:

This allows one to select a previous metadata version to display, or download a previous physical document version.

Choosing a previous metadata version makes it appear to the right of the existing document data, generic metadata and type-specific metadata settings:
