My favourite Linux company, Obsidian, recently was recognised as the top RedHat trainer in the EMEA region. Great stuff guys! Training over 120 RHCEs is quite impressive for the South African market. Combine that with about a hundred LPI level 1 certifications in the coming weeks, and South Africa's certainly shaping up to lose its proprietary software stronghold perception.
I can't begin to describe how proud I felt to be a South African Linuxer when I read that tectonic article. I firmly believe we have some of the best quality Linux people around, right here in SA. It's quite incredible how Linux and OSS is advancing, and the level of support we have from the public out there. And underneath it all is the excellent service provided by the industry. Obsidian might technically be my competition, but I consider them my friend - they've been around longer than anyone else I know. That's apecial. And they really do deserve that award from Red Hat - they beat every other training provider in Africa, Middle East AND Europe to get it. Well done! alan
