In addition to Metadata Versions and the improved permissions system, the first iteration of improvements to KnowledgeTree included editable help pages and nested groups.

Help in KnowledgeTree is probably one of its less impressive features. It hasn't received nearly the attention it should, often having the beat minimum of explaining what each field means in a form.

Well, now users can do something about it - they can edit the help pages on their system. Using a rich HTML editor via the web (I used TinyMCE as it was the easiest to understand and deploy).

From the administration page, you can view the current help assignments:

You can then click on the customise or edit button to use the rich editor to edit the help page in question:

Make a few changes, and your help page shows up when your users view the help in the related section:

Nested groups is the ability to have groups be members of other groups. Thus, all permissions set on the parent group are available on the child group, by virtue of membership.

Below, you can see that the TestParent group, with no user members, is assigned "Core: Read" permission on the folder. My user is a member of the "Test" group, which is a group member of the group TestParent. As expected, I get the permission:
