The joys of web server log analysis

Upon hearing about a TV article about Open Source showing on a channel I don't get, I decided to ask the producers of the article for a digital copy so I could watch it and write some commentary for my web log and some local mailing lists. Long shot, and it didn't come off. No problems.

What I did enjoy was seeing that they looked me up on Google during this exchange - the wonders of web server logs (and sisynala to analyse them). Good show on doing so - it says a lot about someone, especially someone from the Open Source community, and hopefully wasn't too embarrassing for me.

I also noticed that I'd had my first visits to my web site from Microsoft South Africa and Microsoft Europe and another company involved in the TV article not long afterwards.

    I've written a few software projects of my own over the years (although mostly I'm the only user of them).

    I'm far from an artist, but I enjoy capturing my experiences on camera.
